Agility & fitness
Interested in taking part in some agility and fitness training but don't want to compete? Then our Fun Agility & Fitness Classes are just for you!
At Canine Behaviour Guernsey, we know just how important it is that our pets stay fit and healthy and agility and fitness training can really help us keep them that way. Agility and fitness work also provides an outlet for mental stimulation and is an activity that is enjoyed by both dog and owner.
We know many dog owners are keen to enjoy this sport and to have fun with their dogs but don't want the hassle of competitions and so we have devised our agility and fitness sessions around this concept. They are fun, enjoyable and non-competitive. There is though the option to take part in our Fun Agility Trials & Award Scheme if you would like to measure your own success!
Dog owners do often forget that our dogs may have some limitations when it comes to physical work and that their bodies need to be trained to do what we are asking of them, much like our own bodies when we take part in sport or physical activity. A human would not enter themselves straight into a marathon without any training! So while our agility and fitness sessions are fun, it is essential that we make sure our dogs are physically able and trained to take part in the activities to prevent injury. And so our sessions are devised around building strength, conditioning and stamina rather than speed-focused.
Fun Agility & Fitness Classes are held outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter. They are usually held on a Tuesday evening and run in six-week blocks. For more information or to enquire about availability then please get in touch!
